The Role of Moisture Absorbers

Transformer moisture absorbers usually use moisture absorbing materials such as silica gel.

When the external air enters the transformer through the moisture absorber, the moisture in the air is adsorbed by the silica gel. Silica gel has strong moisture absorption, can adsorb water vapor in the air on its surface and pores, so as to realize the dry treatment of air.

Taking color-changing silica gel as an example, its color will change with the increase of moisture absorption, such as from blue to pink or white, which is convenient for the staff to intuitively understand the degree of moisture absorption of the silica gel, so as to replace or deal with it in time.
