On load tap changer: It can change the tap position under excitation state, switch from one tap to another without interrupting the load current, change the voltage ratio of the transformer, and achieve the purpose of voltage regulation. During the process of changing the tap changer, it is necessary to use resistors to achieve transition and limit the circulating current during the transition.

Isolation switch: mainly used to isolate power supply, form a clear disconnection point, generally cannot be disconnected with load, there is no arc extinguishing cover in the structure, but there are also isolation switches that can disconnect load, relatively simple in structure, and do not have protection function
