    Silicon steel sheet for electrical use is commonly known as silicon steel sheet or silicon steel sheet. It is a soft magnetic alloy of ferrosilicon with very low carbon content, generally with a silicon content of 2.9~3.3%, which is made by hot and cold rolling. Generally, the thickness is less than 1mm, so it is called thin plate.The addition of silicon can increase the resistivity and maximum permeability of iron, reducing coercivity, iron loss and magnetic aging. It is mainly used to make the cores of various transformers, motors and generators.The production of silicon steel sheets accounts for about 1% of the total steel . Silicon steel sheet belongs to the plate class in a broad sense, and is an independent branch due to its special use.

    Silicon steel sheet can be divided into two types: low silicon and high silicon according to its different silicon content. Low silicon wafer contains less than 2.9% silicon, it has a certain mechanical strength, mainly used to manufacture motors, commonly known as motor silicon steel sheets。

      The silicon content of high silicon wafer is 2.8%-4.8%, it has good magnetic properties, but it is brittle, and is mainly used to manufacture transformer cores, commonly known as transformer silicon steel sheets. There is no strict boundary between the two in actual use, and large motors are often manufactured with high silicon wafers.
