1. Definition
Silicon alloy steel with a silicon content of 1.0-4.5% and a carbon content of less than 0.03% in the finished product is called silicon steel. It has special properties, such as high permeability, low coercivity, large resistance coefficient, and therefore low hysteresis loss. It is an essential soft magnetic alloy in the power, electronics, and military industries, and is also the largest production metal functional material. It is mainly used as the iron core for various motors, generators, and transformers. Its production process is complex, manufacturing technology is strict, and foreign production technology is protected in the form of patents, regarded as the life of the enterprise.
2.Classification of silicon steel
Hot rolled silicon steel sheets:
Hot rolled silicon steel sheets are made by melting Fe Si alloys in an open furnace or electric furnace, repeatedly hot rolling them into thin plates, and finally annealing them at 800-850 ℃. Hot rolled silicon steel sheets are mainly used in the manufacturing of generators, so they are also known as hot-rolled motor silicon steel sheets. However, their utilization rate is low and energy loss is large. In recent years, relevant departments have forced cooling requirements to eliminate them.
Cold rolled non oriented silicon steel sheets:
The main use of cold-rolled non oriented silicon steel sheets is for generator manufacturing, hence it is also known as cold-rolled silicon steel for electric motors. Its silicon content is 0.5% -3.0%, and it is cold rolled to the finished thickness. The supply state is mostly 0.35mm and 0.5mm thick steel strips. The Bs of cold-rolled non oriented silicon steel is higher than that of oriented silicon steel; Compared with hot-rolled silicon steel, it has uniform thickness, high dimensional accuracy, smooth and flat surface, thereby improving the filling coefficient and magnetic properties of the material.
Cold rolled oriented silicon steel sheets:
The main use of cold-rolled oriented silicon steel strip is for transformer manufacturing, so it is also known as cold-rolled transformer silicon steel. Compared with cold-rolled non oriented silicon steel, the magnetic properties of oriented silicon steel have strong directionality; It has superior high magnetic permeability and low loss characteristics in the direction of easy magnetization rolling. The iron loss of oriented steel strip in the rolling direction is only 1/3 of that in the transverse direction, and the magnetic permeability ratio is 6:1. Its iron loss is about 1/2 of that of hot-rolled strip, and its magnetic permeability is 2.5 times that of the latter.
High magnetic induction cold-rolled oriented silicon steel sheets:
High magnetic induction cold-rolled silicon steel strips are all single oriented steel strips, mainly used in the manufacturing of various electromagnetic components such as transformers and chokes in the telecommunications and instrumentation industries. Its application has two main characteristics. Firstly, under low current or weak magnetic field conditions, the material is required to have high magnetic properties within the weak magnetic field range, that is, high μ 0 value and high B value; The second characteristic is high usage frequency, usually above 400Hz, and even up to 2MHz. To reduce eddy current losses and effective magnetic permeability under alternating magnetic fields, a thin strip of 0.05-0.20mm is generally used.
