Comparison of European Standard Bushing Base Materials

1.PBT material,full name polybutylene terephthalate (PolybutyleneTerephthalate), abbreviated PBT.

Material Advantages:

(1).PBT is made from the polycondensation of terephthalic acid and 1,4-butanediol, which has special properties such as high heat resistance, toughness and fatigue resistance.

(2).PBT material melting point is 233℃, with high temperature corrosion resistance. PBT material has the function of dustproof and waterproof, and does not absorb moisture in the process of using, so it will not bring trouble to the process of using the transformer.

2.PA66 is a thermoplastic resin also known as polyhexanediylhexanediamine only or nylon-66.

Material Advantages

(1).PA66 material is resistant to corrosion by acids, alkalis and most inorganic salts and water solutions, and has good abrasion resistance.

(2). PA66 material has high mechanical strength and hardness, as well as greater rigidity.

Material Disadvantages

One of the main drawbacks of the PA66 material is its high hygroscopicity. This hygroscopicity stems mainly from its ability to absorb water from the air, which absorbs water and drips may affect the transformer core, which can lead to burning out the transformer.
