   The iron core is composed of two parts: the iron core column and the iron yoke. The core column is wounded, and the iron yoke connects the core column to form a closed magnetic circuit.

   Because the magnetic flux in the transformer core is an alternating magnetic flux, in order to reduce the eddy current loss, the transformer core is generally made of silicon steel sheet with large resistivity to make an iron chip of a certain size, and the silicon steel sheet that constitutes the core is first cut into the required shape and size, that is, the punching piece, and then the punching piece is combined according to the overlapping mode. The iron core of a single-phase transformer consists of 4 punching pieces per layer. Figure 2b shows the core of a three-phase transformer, each layer is composed of 6 pieces, and the punching pieces of each two layers are combined with different arrangements to stagger the joints of the magnetic circuits of each layer, this assembly method is called overlapping assembly, which can avoid the flow of eddy currents between the steel sheets. And because each layer of punching is staggered, when pressing the core, the structure can be simplified with fewer fasteners. When assembling, firstly, the punching pieces are stacked to form an integral iron core, then the lower iron yoke is clamped, the upper iron yoke punching piece is removed to expose the iron core column, the prefabricated winding is sleeved on the iron core column, and finally the upper iron yoke punching piece that is drawn out is inserted.
