Transformer core is the main magnetic circuit part of the transformer. It is usually made of hot-rolled or cold-rolled silicon steel sheets with a high silicon content and coated with insulating paint on the surface. The iron core and the coils wound on it form a complete electromagnetic induction system. The size of the power transmitted by the power transformer depends on the material and cross-sectional area of the core.
Effect:
1.Hysteresis loss, it refers to the iron loss of the transformer due to the hysteresis phenomenon when the transformer is working in the AC state, and the use of the transformer core can change this phenomenon to a certain extent. And it can also alleviate the surface rise of the transformer during operation.
2. Eddy current loss refers to the alternating current generated by the transformer during operation. It and the induced current generated by the magnetic flux in the iron core will change. This change is called eddy current. When the eddy current is lost, the temperature on the surface of the iron core will rise, but due to the material (silicon) of the iron core, our resistivity will increase during this process, which can reduce the effect of the eddy current.
