Single Phrase Transformer

There are differences between single-phase transformers and three-phase transformers in the following aspects:

 

structure

 

-Single phase transformer: usually has one primary winding and one secondary winding, wound on the same iron core column, and the iron core is generally in the shape of a "mouth" or "sun".

-Three phase transformer: It has three primary windings and three secondary windings, corresponding to the three phases of the three-phase power supply. The iron core is generally three-phase five column or three-phase three column.

-Single phase transformer: Based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, it converts single-phase AC voltage into single-phase AC voltage of different voltage levels, used for single-phase load power supply or voltage conversion in special occasions.

-Three phase transformer: Based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, it can simultaneously convert three-phase AC voltage into three-phase AC voltage of different voltage levels to meet the power supply needs of three-phase loads.

 

application

 

-Single phase transformer: commonly used for supplying power to single-phase loads in households, small commercial places, such as lighting, small appliances, etc. It is also used for some single-phase equipment that requires special voltage levels, such as control transformers, portable light transformers, etc.

-Three phase transformer: widely used in industrial, commercial, and power systems, providing power for three-phase loads such as three-phase motors and three-phase electric furnaces. It is also an important equipment for voltage conversion and energy transmission distribution in power systems.

-Single phase transformer: Generally, the capacity is relatively small, commonly ranging from tens of volt amperes to several thousand volt amperes.

-Three phase transformer: The capacity is usually large, ranging from tens of kilovolt amperes to thousands of kilovolt amperes or even larger, to meet the demand for large capacity electricity in industrial and large-scale commercial facilities.

 

Connection method

 

-Single phase transformer: The connection method is relatively simple, mainly including series and parallel, and the winding connection can be changed according to the needs to obtain different voltage outputs.

-Three phase transformer: There are various connection methods such as Y (star) connection, D (triangle) connection, etc. Through different connection combinations, different voltage conversion ratios and winding current distribution can be achieved to adapt to different loads and system requirements.
