Oil drain valve

The transformer oil drain valve mainly has the following functions:

-Accident oil discharge: In case of emergency situations such as transformer fire or electrical failure, opening the oil discharge valve can quickly discharge some of the oil in the transformer, reduce the oil level, prevent the spread of fire or explosion, reduce accident damage, and protect equipment and personnel safety.

-Daily maintenance and oil drainage: When repairing, replacing components, or handling internal faults in transformers, it is necessary to drain the oil inside the transformer so that personnel can enter the oil tank for operation. In addition, when the transformer oil needs to be replaced or subjected to maintenance work such as filtration and treatment, the oil can also be discharged through a drain valve.

-Adjusting oil level: During the operation of the transformer, the oil level may fluctuate due to changes in oil temperature and other reasons. When the oil level is too high, an appropriate amount of oil can be released through the drain valve to keep the oil level within the normal range and prevent damage to the oil tank due to high oil level.

-Sampling and testing: Transformer oil samples can be taken from the oil drain valve for regular oil testing, to understand the performance indicators of the oil, such as flash point, acid value, moisture content, insulation strength, etc., to judge the operating condition of the transformer and promptly detect potential problems.
