Cork gasket and NBR material difference

NBR gasket and impregnated cork gasket are two different types of seals with different materials and properties

1. Oil resistance: NBR rubber pads are suitable for contact with mineral oils, animal and vegetable oils, etc.

Impregnated cork with moderate oil resistance

2. Temperature resistance: NBR rubber pads generally have good short-term temperature resistance between -40 ℃ and 120 ℃.

Impregnated cork is usually aged at -30 ℃~100 ℃, and the impregnating agent may deteriorate and its performance may decrease under long-term high temperature.

3. Water absorption: NBR material has low water absorption, while impregnated cork material has high water absorption

4. Cost: NBR is moderate, impregnated cork is relatively high;

Summary: If oil resistance, high elasticity, and dynamic sealing are required, NBR gaskets are preferred;

If rough surface sealing, static buffering, and dependence on natural material properties are required, then impregnated cork rubber pads should be chosen.
