Oriented electrical steel

一、 Basic introduction:

Silicon alloy steel with a silicon content of 1.0 to 4.5% and a carbon content of less than 0.08% is called silicon steel. The lower the iron loss value, the better the quality of the iron; generally, the weight of a silicon steel coil is about 3-4 tons. It has the characteristics of high permeability and large resistivity, so the hysteresis loss and eddy current loss are small. Mainly used as magnetic materials in motors, transformers, electrical appliances and electrical instruments. In order to meet the needs of punching and shearing when manufacturing electrical appliances, a certain degree of plasticity is also required. In order to improve the magnetic induction performance and reduce the hysteresis loss, it is required that the content of harmful impurities is as low as possible, and the plate shape is required to be flat and the surface quality is good.

Silicon steel, also known as oriented electrical steel, can be divided into ordinary type, high magnetic induction type, and magnetic domain refinement high magnetic induction type. Standard size thickness: 0.23, 0.27, 0.30, 0.35mm, tolerance width: 700~1200mm.

二、 Production process:

Electrical steel is divided into two types: hot-rolled and cold-rolled. Cold rolled electrical steel is divided into oriented electrical steel and non-oriented electrical steel according to the orientation of internal grains. The grains of oriented electrical steel are basically oriented in one direction, with a high silicon content, and are mainly used for transformer manufacturing; non-oriented electrical steel has a messy grain distribution and low silicon content, and is mainly used for motor manufacturing.

三、 Main performance:

4. Excellent surface coating performance, uniform surface coating, good adhesion, prevent the coating from falling off during processing; good interlayer insulation performance.

5. More width options, the plate width of oriented electrical steel is 700-1200mm, users can choose from them, and improve the utilization rate of materials.

四、Requirements for the performance of silicon steel:

1. Low iron loss, which is the most important indicator of silicon steel sheet quality. All countries divide the grades according to the iron loss value. The lower the iron loss, the higher the grade.

2. The magnetic induction intensity (magnetic induction) is high under a strong magnetic field, which reduces the volume and weight of the iron core of motors and transformers, and saves silicon steel sheets, copper wires and insulating materials.

3. The surface is smooth, flat and uniform in thickness, which can increase the filling factor of the iron core.

4. Good punching performance, which is more important for the manufacture of miniature and small motors.

5. The surface insulation film has good adhesion and weldability, which can prevent corrosion and improve the punching property.
